Angie Black, Nurse Practitioner at A Balanced Life Health Care

Angie’s focus has always been on providing comprehensive (whole person) based care, which integrates emotional, interpersonal, spiritual and physical health

Angie Black (she/her) Nurse Practitioner is strongly committed to nurturing meaningful patient-provider relationships to facilitate optimal patient wellness. Her motivation to be an ally in healing and wellness has directed her career from nursing to primary care provider. Her focus has always been on providing comprehensive (whole person) based care, which integrates emotional, interpersonal, spiritual and physical health.  Her philosophy involves empowering patients with education and resources to help them achieve their highest health goals while providing care in a safe and supportive environment.

Angie began her career in nursing after receiving her Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University in 2007. After five years spent practicing as a nurse in various settings, she went on to become a Nurse Practitioner and received her Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University in 2012. She has over a decade of experience as an independent medical provider with a diversified background of medical settings including breast medical oncology, internal medicine/primary care, community outreach of unhoused urban populations (with mental health conditions, substance dependency and primary care needs), and post-acute care within rehabilitation facilities (typically patients with high complexity chronic disease conditions) . Since making her way to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, she loves all of the incredible nature, amazing restaurants, music and kind people the area has to offer.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are medical providers who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree nursing science related program. In many states (Oregon included), NPs can function fully independently as health care providers- diagnosing, treating (with prescriptions and/or lifestyle modifications) and managing medical conditions in areas of general practice (primary care) or specialty fields. NPs are known for offering high quality, cost-effective patient centered care.
